Following the successful production of Punchline, Steve was inspired to write his own script to bring more drama to the Brighton scene with FLUTTER-BYE. This new play, saw BBC’s Allison Ferns take on her first ever one-woman play, which followed the character of Mary, who guided the audience through a fast-paced, emotional journey as she looked back at the promising singing career she sacrificed to care for her mother who lived with dementia. The premier took place at Ironworks Studios in Brighton, and supported the work of the charity Our Dementia Choir.

With a love of drawing on his own experiences and 'joining the dots', Steve's writing naturally ebbs and flows revealing surprises, links and hidden gems that allow his novels to bleed into each other. These experiences, coupled with detailed research and Steve's genuine understanding and interest in human and societal behaviour, ensures his writing feels familiar to his readers whilst taking them to worlds and situations very few would encounter. Steve's writing draws upon the people he has met, the places he knows, the art and culture of tattooing, and his enduring fascination with human nature.
